Frog in My Garden Paper Iris and Pine Barrens Tree Frog Traditional Miniature Acrylic on Composition Board Image: 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" Frame: 11 1/2" x 7 1/2" private collection The iris is one of my favorite flowers, and it comes in so many varieties and colors. During the blooming season last spring it rained constantly -- to the point that if I didn't get outdoors to shoot some film, the blooms would be gone before the rain! As you can see, this was a blessing in disguise. I completed this little painting from my photos and included an endangered Pine Barrens Tree Frog. I ended up liking this painting so much that I did a larger version which I titled Under Cover. And future works based on this same theme are in the planning stages -- all because it rained and rained and rained.
