| In spite
of the fact that New Jersey is the most densely populated state
in the U.S., our black bear population is estimated to be about
1000 and growing. The heaviest numbers of bear are found in the
north and northwest regions of the state, where large tracts
of forests, state parks and farmland still exist. New York City
dwellers must find it hard to imagine that black bear can be
found less than an hour away from Times Square! |
