Foxtrot on the Dunes Red Fox Traditional Miniature Acrylic on Composition Board Image: 2 1/2" x 5 3/4" Frame: 6 3/8" x 9 5/8" private collection Although I didn't actually see a fox trotting across the dunes, I have seen several foxes in this vicinity on various occasions. Living in New Jersey affords me the opportunity to visit the Jersey shore's Long Beach Island and the historic Barnegat Lighthouse which is now part of a state park and wildlife refuge. Some of the tallest dunes on the East Coast are found there! The title for this piece actually came to me during a walk through these dunes, and when I returned to my studio I proceeded to follow through with this painting.
