SAA’s east coast national tour includes 65 works of its members, as well as selected historical works by John James Audubon, Mark Catesby and Alexander Wilson. While realism dominates the style of many of the contemporary artists, their diverse approaches to animals and their environments give the exhibition a remarkable breadth. Artists of both national and international renown appear in Pfac’s portion of this exhibition, including artists from USA, England, Australia, Canada, France and Sweden. Linda’s painting “Lakeside Silhouettes” will be featured in this half of the tour.

Gallery One’s Masterworks in Miniature art show can be viewed on-line, or if you
live in the area, in person. This is an invitational event and some of the worlds most
noted painters and sculptors participate! New this year are select yellow tagged
items which can be purchased immediately, no waiting! In most cases an intent to
purchase form accompanies each artwork and at the conclusion of the show a drawing
is held to announce the winning buyer. Easy to follow instructions are posted on the
gallery’s web site, just click the link provided above.

The drawing for purchase rights will be open to the public and will take place,
Saturday, March 24, 2012. The winner need not be present.

Two-hundred and twenty artists from 40 states, Canada, and Russia submitted 513 entries for the show. Of those 513 entries, 75 have been accepted for the exhibition. Linda’s Big Sky Country has been selected and will be featured in this event.

The Dennos will be the host site for the 2011 Art and the Animal origination exhibition, which is the flagship exhibition of The Society of Animal Artists, an organization dedicated to maintaining the highest standards among painters and sculptors who specialize in animal subject matter. The SAA draws upon the artistic talent of over 500 members from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America. Combining natural history and fine art in creative ways, this annual exhibition is juried by distinguished experts. Art and the Animal has been presented at prestigious art institutions as well as popular tourist destinations including Disney which displayed the exhibition to launch its newest attraction, Animal Kingdom, in 1998. Each annual origination exhibition usually contains around 125 paintings and sculptures.

Linda’s miniature painting Lakeside Silhouettes, belted kingfisher, is a part of this 51st celebration of Art and the Animal.
