The Society of Animal Artists (SAA) is regarded worldwide as the most prestigious artist-membership organization dedicated to the theme of animals in art. Society members come from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. Combining natural history and fine art in creative ways, SAA members compete to have their work included in annual exhibitions selected by a selection jury comprised of SAA members. ART AND THE ANIMAL is The Society’s flagship exhibition. The 50th Anniversary Exhibition of the Society of Animal Artists will contain 120–150 flatworks and sculptures. The San Diego Natural History Museum is the premiere stop on the exhibition’s national tour.
