While realism dominates the style of many of the contemporary artists, their diverse approaches to animals and their environments give the exhibition a remarkable breadth. Artists of both national and international renown appear in Pfacs portion of this exhibition, including artists from USA, England, Australia, Canada, France and Sweden. The SAA draws upon the artistic talent of over 500 members from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America. Combining natural history and fine art in creative ways, this annual exhibition is juried by distinguished experts. Art and the Animal has been presented at prestigious art institutions as well as popular tourist destinations including Disney which displayed the exhibition to launch its newest attraction, Animal Kingdom, in 1998. Each annual origination exhibition usually contains around 125 paintings and sculptures.
