| After completing my singular lily I decided I needed a companion piece, hence magnolias! This was also painted using the grisaille method, which means creating the values (halftones) with a single monochromatic color and then layering actual color on top until the underpainting is completely covered. This may be a more tedious approach, but the end result can’t be achieved any other way. | ||
